BV Saturday Group Rides

We welcome ALL cyclists from all levels of experience. Whether you just bought your first hybrid bike and feel unsure how to shift correctly, upgraded into a road bike but don't know if you can keep up, or you're looking for a fast group to push your pace into new levels and distances, we'll accommodate any style and fitness level. The one thing we all have in common is that we enjoy pedaling our bikes with the sun on our face and with friends to share it with.

Sat June 9th: Denver Triangle / Pinery Loop / Golden

RECREATIONAL:

Gene led the Rec group today on the Denver triangle. Similar to the mishap last week he got his tire stuck in a crack on Union Blvd, but was able to quickly navigate out of it. Thermometers were boiling today and it stayed that way all through the ride. Thanks to England Dave for volunteering to sweep on the way out. We had a great ride with 12 riders with no flats, no mechanical issues and no crashes! 8-)

ADVANCED:

Jason had one "fish on the line" until late Friday night and Adam withdrew. Jason will try some different bait next time and hopefully reel in a few new fish...

WHAT GROUP DO YOU BEST FIT??

Recreational and Intermediate groups utilize surrounding bike paths - come learn some new routes in your backyard!

RECREATIONAL:
* You ride once or twice a week and want a bit of a challenge
* The distance/speed of the Int. group is a bit too much
Avg: 13-15mph
Distance: 25-35 miles

INTERMEDIATE:
* You have experience with longer rides and faster speeds
* Prefer a steady pace over multiple breaks/stops
Avg: 16-18mph
Avg Distance: 35-50 miles

SEASONAL (winter):
* May only have one rider leader
* Combines Intermediate with Recreational
Avg: 16-17mph
Avg Distance: 35-45

ADVANCED:
* This IS a drop rider group

RIDE INFO

1. Meet Saturday (9am) at Bicycle Village-Aurora ready to ride at 9:30am.

2. Choose from two ride levels in peak season (one in winter).

3. All rides are co-ed

4. Riders MUST be able to maintain average mph as listed above.

5. Helmet is required and cyclist should carry: ID, water, spare tube(s), pump, tire levers.

6. Sign a liability waiver each year.

7. Add your email to our "rider" list and you'll receive ride reminders.

9. Highlights and photos of the rides are posted to this blog early in the week.

10. Must have fun!
