RECREATIONAL
The recreation group headed out on Saturday for a nice ride to Sloan's Lake. We had a good mix of new riders, regulars and a couple of Intermediate riders taking it easy before E-Rock for 17 in total. We set off down the Cherry Creek trail at a good pace and got to Confluence Park for a regroup in short order. A few of the riders decided to head back to BV early and the remainder continued out to Sloan's Lake. A lap or two later and it was back to Confluence Park for a refuel and water break. After the break, everyone headed back to BV at a variety of paces with a few peeling early for stops along the way. Overall, a great ride on a beautiful Colorado day.
Thanks to everyone for helping watch out for each other and make sure the ride went well and everyone seemed to have a good time.

ADVANCED
Jacquette shared a "fav" route with Justin to lead the advanced ride on Saturday. The only taker, Adam, was training for the Hugo Road Race next weekend, which is a 78-miler in the area south of Limon. So it was a perfect preparation route to start from the Aurora Res and hit the plains east to Bennett! The two took off at 9 in perfect conditions and tackled the rolling hills, heading north to east (way east) Colfax. The Bennett water tower was a beacon in the distance and a goal to shoot for. 20 miles out and 1 hour later, they hit the tower and then turned around for the out and back. Both riders joined forces to take turns pulling against the increasing winds and heat on the way back. There's nothing like seeing the Rockies rising up from the golden plains in that direction! Adam (hard core) opted to get a few extra miles around the Res in preparation for the race next weekend, after maintaining a solid 20 mph pace on the 40-miler. Another great day!
