The first ride of the fall fell on a warm pretty day.  18 people showed up for the 2.5 hour Recreational Ride as we did the Meridian loop. A fairly quick pace was set with several stops to allow for regrouping.  At Meridian we divided into three groups, a) those who waited in shade  and recovered for the return, b) those who did a lap, and c) those who cracked off TWO laps.  Heading back Jeffrey led the main group to the E470 trail, then east Jordon and back through the State Park.  Tom led a slightly more direct root and beat the main group back to Bicycle Village.  We are continuing to attract new riders as we move into the fall.  Lena is a new “senior” level tri-athlete came out to work on her bike skills.  Andy, a newly arrived British IT worker turned out, expressed caution about the pace at the first stop, then hung with the front bunch the rest of the morning.  17yr old Christopher turned up with a heavy and elderly mountain bike, he is inheriting as his mother moves up to a sleek new carbon road bike.  Christopher rode strongly, clearly had a good time, and we think Mom may have to think about buying two new bikes this year.  Christmas is coming!

A few people lost sight of the leaders (sorry about that!) and came back on their own.  Jeffrey brought the majority in with him and Tom came back with Carol. Carol works for the state of CO in health and human services placing refugees who seek asylum and wish to live in our fair state and enjoys her two dogs; one a chow mix and the other is a pug mix.

INTERMEDIATE:
Comments via ride Leader(s):

The second day of fall still felt like summer and produced excellent riding weather with a turnout in the intermediate group to match!  The pack of around 20 was showing late season form and took off quickly with leaders   Justin and Patrice along.  The pack got to the top of the Cherry Creek Dam quickly, but in the park Justin flatted and Patrice assisted with repair one-of-two on the day.  After meeting back up the group tore up the rolling hills on Arapahoe and battled the wind around Aurora Res.  After fueling up at Walgreen's the usual suspects pushed the pace back home, and everyone got plenty of fun in the sun.
