Recap September 10th: REC Sloan's Lake / INT Chris' Loop

We were treated to another phenomenal day consisting of clear sunny skies and great temps.  We had two great rides on Saturday, the Rec. ride was lead by Jeffery and the Intermediate ride was lead by Chris.

It is so lovely to ride in early fall sunshine, and our rec ride attracted three brand new riders and some friends we had not seen in a while.  The newbies included Adam, riding a 25 year old mountain bike that he probably bought new when  he was 40.  He proved to be a solid mid-pack rider.  Some of us will be in trouble if he decides to buy a lighter modern bike.  The returnees included our Special Olympian Alex who worked hard to hang in on his prized Schwinn.

We rode down the Cherry Creek Trail to Confluence Park then looped out to 23rd and around Sloans’ Lake.  Our stronger riders cracked off two laps before we reconnected and reversed our route riding back up the trail to Bicycle Village.

Jeffrey was leading this group of 18 on his own, and expresses his thanks to Travis who graciously encouraged the back of the bunch through the ride.

What another amazing day we had on Saturday.  Gorgeous weather, perfect temperature and a great group made this a really enjoyable ride.  Things started off with a quick trip through the CC Res. and then it was onto Broncos Parkway and up to Inspiration.  We followed Inspiration down and made a loop around Canterberry which has a nice little climb and descent.  It was back on the CC trail to a Loaf-n-jug on the corner of 470 and Jordan.  After refueling we had our usual quick trip down Jordan and then it was back into the CC Res. and back to the shop.
